Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. is the first black sorority and was founded on January 15, 1908 at Howard University in Washington, D.C. Their colors are salmon pink and apple green and their symbol is the ivy leaf. Esteemed members include civil rights leader Rosa Parks and Nobel Prize winner and author Toni Morrison.
